The goal of the scam was to steal my Amazon login and payment information. With full access to someone’s account, these scammers can take control of your bank, purchases and gain personal, private details. I got a text saying “Your Amazon package cannot be delivered due to incorrect address information. Please confirm your address below using the following steps.” I then got directed to a page that looked like Amazon and realized shortly after, that this website gathered everything that I typed. This scam works since it uses a fear of losing a delivery and trust in Amazon. I realized it was fake since the link didn’t end in amazon.com and it didn’t make sense, since I never ordered anything off of Amazon recently. Overall, this experience showed me how professional scams can look today and how deceiving they can be. I made sure to always verify before clicking anything in the future and to stay aware of messages that seem to pressure you into make quick, irrational decisions.

Scams nowadays seem so real and are incredibly scary especially to older people, who might believe it’s a real message.

I don’t blame elders for falling for these scams, since they are so believable and look incredibly trustworthy.

It is so unfortunate that thousands of people fall for these scams and lose tons of money. Hopefully there is a way in the future to recover the money one might have given up.

Yes, some banks do help out or reimburse for these scams, but it still takes a lot of work and is a long process.

I am sorry this recently happened to you. It happened to me as well but with best buy. I almost gave away another $1,000 for money I already spent on a TV.

Seriously! It’s so believable and I am so happy that you didn’t give away an extra large amount of cash for no reason.

It is incredibly easy to lose money and truly ruin your future off of one believable scam. We should start a go-fund me for people who have lost money.

I totally agree. Thank you for such a great idea.
